Homework is an important part of a child’s education as it helps to consolidate and reinforce the learning that has taken place in class. It also encourages children to take responsibility for their learning and gives parents and carers an insight into how well their child is coping with their school work.
The homework children receive increases as they move up the school. We ask parents and carers to support and help their child to ensure homework is completed and handed in on time. If homework is not completed satisfactorily, teachers may ask a pupil to complete it in their own time within the school day. Please take time to read our useful Homework guidelines.
We are currently using the ‘Mathletics’ website (for use in and out of school). In years 3-5 it will be the main focus for maths homework. You should have all received a letter with information about this and all the children have their own login details which are stuck into their planners.
Another new initiative we are using is My Book Blog.
