To be based at Leigh CE Primary School

 

Grade 3, £12.85 hourly pay working term time only – 10 hours per week

About the Role
Leigh CE Primary school is seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Teaching Assistant (Level 1) to join our friendly primary school team. The successful candidate will help ensure that pupils have a safe, happy and positive experience during the lunchtime period.

You will supervise children in the dining hall, playground and other school areas, supporting positive behaviour and encouraging play and social interaction, particularly SEN pupils.

To give support for SEN pupils providing particular help for those students with learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social or physical disabilities, as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during lunch in the dining hall and playground
  • Support children while they eat and encourage good table manners
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils
  • Help organise playground activities and encourage inclusive play
  • Assist pupils where needed, including younger children
  • Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff member
  • To respond appropriately to the individual needs of pupils including if required to attend to pupils personal needs which may include aiding with toileting and dressing.

The successful candidate would:   

  • Enjoy working with children and supporting their wellbeing
  • Be patient, caring and approachable
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be reliable and punctual
